Enzo Lippolis was a Full Professor of Classical Archaeology at Sapienza University of Rome, serving as Director of the Department of Ancient Sciences from 2012 until his sudden passing on March 3, 2018. His leadership contributed decisively to the Department's rise to first place globally in classical studies (QS 2018 ranking). He was renowned for his teaching in Greek Archaeology across undergraduate, graduate, and specialization programs, as well as his role in the Archaeology PhD program.
