Engelbert Ruoss is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society, Università della Svizzera italiana (USI). He serves as an associated expert of the USI UNESCO Chair in ICT for sustainable tourism in World Heritage Sites. With a PhD in Biology and Master in Museum Sciences from the Universities of Bern and Basel, his career spans roles as Director of the UNESCO Office in Venice (Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe), EU program consultant, manager of Entlebuch Biosphere Reserve, and deputy director of Lucerne's Museum of Natural History.
