En Li

En Li is an Associate Professor of Modern East Asian History at UT Dallas' Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology. Her research examines late imperial and modern China through social/cultural lenses, with foci on material culture, games, and Chinese diasporas. She earned her PhD from Washington University in St. Louis.

Research interests include:

• Transnational cultural exchange through performing arts like Hula
• Pedagogical applications of historical board games
• Diaspora studies and material culture analysis

Honors include the Sherman Emerging Scholar award and Provost Teaching Fellowship. Her work combines archival research with contemporary cultural analysis to explore meritocracy and social change.
