Emre Umucu

Dr. Emre Umucu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), affiliated with the Health Sciences and School of Nursing. His research focuses on improving health, rehabilitation, and community participation outcomes for underserved populations, including veterans with chronic conditions. He collaborates with local, federal, national, and international agencies such as NIH, NIA, VA, and SAMHSA to address complex health challenges. His work emphasizes positive psychology, mental health, and innovative solutions for autonomous health institutions.

Dr. Umucu’s research interests include Alzheimer’s disease, substance abuse, veterans’ health, and the application of artificial intelligence in community-engaged scholarship. Notably, he received a prestigious award from the American Psychological Association for his contributions.
