Emmanuelle Williams is Professor in the Department of Medicine and Associate Dean for Student Affairs at Penn State College of Medicine, where she also serves as Director of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. She co-founded the Penn State IBD Center in 2013, now nationally recognized for clinical innovation.
Dr. Williams' research focuses on gastroenterology with specialization in inflammatory bowel disease pathophysiology, abdominal pain mechanisms, and clinical decision frameworks. Her work integrates molecular medicine, health economics, and patient-centered outcomes.
In medical education, she developed curricula including Problem-Based Learning programs and wellness initiatives addressing physician burnout. Her pedagogical research examines mindfulness interventions for struggling learners.
