Emmanuelle Walkowiak

Dr. Emmanuelle Walkowiak holds the Vice-Chancellor’s Senior Research Fellowship at RMIT University’s Economics Finance & Marketing department. Her research focuses on the intersection of technology, work transformation, and inclusion, particularly addressing neurodiversity and AI risks. She leads the FLOW-GenAI initiative, exploring Generative AI’s impact on labor dynamics. With a PhD from Paris Dauphine University (2005), she has held roles at institutions across France, the UK, and Australia, including Director of the Bachelor of Business and Economics in France and recipient of La Trobe University’s 2022 Learning & Teaching Award for 'Economics of Innovation.'

Her international experience includes projects funded by French National Research Agency (ANR), European Commission, and Australian initiatives. Notable collaborations include the COI-COSA survey on IT-driven organizational change and the WORKS EU project analyzing restructuring in knowledge societies. Current research emphasizes Generative AI’s societal implications, workplace neurodiversity, and digital inclusion strategies.

Teaching contributions span over 20 courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Innovation Economics, Labour Economics, and crypto-economy governance. She champions evidence-based policymaking and responsible management education, serving as PRME Champion for economics at La Trobe University.

Recent publications analyze AI risks, neurodiversity inclusion, and pandemic-era employment policies. Her work aligns with UN SDGs on decent work (8), reduced inequalities (10), and innovation (9). Awards include the prestigious Solow Fellowship (2005) and recognition for teaching excellence in 2022.
