Emmanuela Sphyroera

Emmanuela Sphyroera is a Lecturer at the Department of Industrial Design and Production Engineering, University of West Attica (UNIWA). She is affiliated with the Laboratory for the Design and Development of Innovative Knitted Textile and Clothing Products (SAPKE) and specializes in technologies for ecological knitted garments and smart fabrics.

• Education

Her educational background includes a BSc in Textile Engineering from the Technological Institute of Piraeus, an MSc in E-Commerce (specializing in Mass Customization in the Textile Industry) from Kingston University, London, and a degree in Fashion Design.

Research interests focus on:

• Development of 3D knitted fabrics and products using conductive yarns for smart textiles
• Zero waste clothing design methodologies
• Integration of mass customization in fashion systems
• Industrial production systems optimization

Teaching includes undergraduate courses in Design Theory and Methodology, Ergonomic Analysis and Design, and Industrial Product Design I/II. She has over a decade of professional experience in the knitwear industry as a designer and manufacturer, and has contributed to European research programs on industrial textiles, smart fabrics, and sustainable design.
