Emmanuel Taïeb is a Professor of Political Science at Sciences Po Lyon and a member of the Triangle laboratory (UMR 5206). He also serves as an Associate Researcher at the Marc Bloch Center in Berlin and Editor-in-Chief of Saison. The Series Review and Quaderni. He has held leadership roles, including election to the Board of Directors of Sciences Po Lyon (2015–2023) and membership in the National Council of Universities (CNU), Section 04 (2019–2022).
His research focuses on the intersection of politics, media, and visual culture, with a particular emphasis on historical analysis of power, political imagery, and the role of television series in shaping political understanding. Notable works include analyses of public executions in France, the ethical dimensions of political leadership (House of Cards), and the visual representation of political violence. He frequently engages with contemporary issues through media appearances and public lectures.
Taïeb has supervised several doctoral theses, including those on neoliberalism’s transnational circulation, educational reform, and pandemic governance. His interdisciplinary approach bridges sociology, history, and media studies, contributing to debates on democracy, memory, and the societal impact of visual media.
