Emma Hedditch

Emma Hedditch is an Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Art at The Cooper Union, New York. Her practice explores daily practice, materiality, and knowledge distribution as political acts, emphasizing self-organization over institutional norms. She holds a BFA from Sheffield Hallam University.

Her research focuses on dismantling institutional frameworks through socially engaged projects and video works. Notable works include Self-Regulating Systems (2016), We Are The Signs And The Signal (2008), and Raising A Resister (2000), exhibited globally at venues like MACBA (Barcelona), KW Institute (Berlin), and Artists Space (New York).

Hedditch has collaborated with Cinenova (feminist film distributor), The Copenhagen Free University, and founded Coop Fund. Her work critiques systems of power through interdisciplinary methods, blending video, performance, and institutional critique.
