Emma Haward

Emma Haward is a Tutor at the Manchester School of Architecture (Manchester Metropolitan University) and an Associate at HTA Design LLP. She leads HTA’s Manchester studio, specializing in housing regeneration and sustainable urban extensions. Her work emphasizes community engagement in estate regeneration projects and innovative housing typologies.

Her professional practice focuses on densifying suburbs, co-housing initiatives, and age-friendly neighborhood design. She collaborates with Local Authorities to transform underused council land and has overseen projects meeting Homes England’s Future Homes standards. Emma’s academic contributions include teaching since 2018 and co-developing research on equitable urban design through the &rchitecture atelier.

Key projects include co-housing proposals for Southway Housing Association and a review of the FEC Northern Gateway SRF. She advocates for fair, inclusive design practices through academic-industry collaborations.
