Emma Feltes is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology at York University. Her research examines Canadian colonialism through constitutional law, Indigenous jurisdiction, and climate justice. She has collaborated with Secwépemc and Tŝilhqot’in Peoples in British Columbia and is completing a book on the 1980s 'Constitution Express' movement.
She holds a PhD from the University of British Columbia and has published in Anthropologica, BC Studies, and the Canadian Journal for Law and Society. Her public scholarship appears in The Conversation and the Globe and Mail.
Research Interests: Indigenous self-determination, environmental crisis governance, transnational decolonization, and legal anthropology.
