Emma Catherine Perry is an Instructor and Interim Director of the Writing Center at the University of Idaho’s English Department, part of the College of Letters, Arts & Social Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Georgia, an M.F.A. in Poetry from Cornell University, and a B.A. in Art History from Kenyon College.
Her research focuses on antiracist pedagogies, linguistic justice, and writing center theory. She teaches creative and academic writing, emphasizing inclusive practices. Perry’s poetry collection Blocks World (Great Place Books, 2023) reflects her creative work, alongside publications in literary journals like Fence and Quarterly West.
As a writing scholar, she advocates for multilingual writers and integrates care ethics into educational practices. She currently serves as Director of the University of Idaho Writing Center, supporting student writers through innovative programs.
