Dr. Emma Blakey is a Senior Lecturer in Developmental Psychology at the University of Sheffield’s School of Psychology and Co-Director of One University. She holds a PhD, MSc, and BA from the University of Sheffield, focusing on Developmental Psychology, Psychological Research, and Philosophy/Psychology. Her research examines executive function development in young children, the impact of social inequalities on child outcomes, and interventions to reduce socioeconomic disparities in early education. She leads the ESRC-funded longitudinal study *The Sheffield Early Years Study* and co-leads interventions like *The ONE Intervention* (EEF-funded) targeting early math skills.
Her work integrates interdisciplinary approaches, collaborating with institutions like Oxford and Ulster University. Current projects include analyzing home environments’ role in early math skills (Nuffield Foundation-funded) and studying pandemic impacts on new parents (with Fiona Scott and Michelle McGillion).
