Emily Sferra is a doctoral candidate and teaching fellow in the Department of English and Comparative Literature at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She holds an MA in English from Ohio University (2015) and a BA in English and Religion from Denison University (2013). She is completing a graduate certificate in Women’s and Gender Studies. Her research focuses on depictions of adolescent women resisting domestication and their relationships with peers, with a particular interest in Victorian literature, feminist theory, queer theory, and women’s writing.
