Emily Rousham

Professor Emily Rousham is a Professor of Global Public Health at Loughborough University, leading the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences as Director for Research and Innovation Income Generation. She holds a BA (Hons) and PhD from the University of Cambridge, with doctoral research focused on Bangladesh under the MRC and Department of Biological Anthropology. Prior to Loughborough, she served as a Lecturer at the University of Western Australia. Her expertise spans global health challenges, including malnutrition, antimicrobial resistance, food security, and urban health interventions in low-resource settings.

Emily’s research portfolio includes studies on anemia prevention in Peru, antibiotic resistance dynamics in Bangladesh, and double-duty actions to combat malnutrition. She actively supervises undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students, fostering interdisciplinary approaches to public health. Notably, her work integrates participatory design methods with community engagement, exemplified in the PERUSANO study addressing malnutrition in Peru. Awards include Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
