Emily Quigley (she/her) is a Lecturer in the School of Journalism and Media at The University of Texas at Austin and serves as Associate Director of the Moody Writing Support Program. She transitioned to academia in 2019 after 19 years at the Austin American-Statesman, where she held roles including Copy Editor, Assistant News Editor, and Assistant Features Editor. At UT Austin, she teaches the foundational Reporting Words course and co-launched the Curriculum for Ethical Leadership in News. She also contributes as an editor and writer for Texas Connect, the university’s faculty/staff magazine.
