About
Dr. Emily Nardoni is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Vassar College. She holds a BS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a PhD from the University of California-San Diego. Prior to joining Vassar in 2024, she held postdoctoral positions at the Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (Kavli IPMU) at the University of Tokyo and at UCLA.
Her research focuses on developing theoretical frameworks to analyze Quantum Field Theories (QFT), particularly in strongly interacting regimes where traditional methods fail. She investigates particle physics phenomena through the lens of string theory, using geometric tools to model complex quantum systems. Key research areas include:
- Dynamics of confining gauge theories
- Supersymmetric and non-supersymmetric QFT limits
- Geometric engineering of quantum systems
Dr. Nardoni leads the Particle Theory @ Vassar research group launching in Fall 2024, where she will mentor students in theoretical physics investigations.
