Emily Mutter

Emily Mutter serves as Assistant Professor of Audiology in the Department of Communication Disorders at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center's School of Allied Health Professions.

Education:

• B.A. in Communication Disorders from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge (2007)
• Au.D. from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (2011)

Her clinical and research expertise centers on cochlear implants, hearing conservation, and implantable hearing devices, with significant focus on hearing aid modification and advanced implantable technologies. She teaches core audiology courses including Clinical Laboratory, Hearing Aid Modification and Repair, Principles of Managing the Hearing Impaired, and specialized courses on Cochlear Implants and Advanced Implantables.

• Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology

Dr. Mutter maintains active licensure through the Louisiana Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and holds the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competencies (CCC-A). She contributes to institutional governance through the SAHP Research Committee and COMD Admissions Committee, while serving as a Board Member for the Louisiana Board of Examiners and participating in the TEAM Up Grader program.
