Professor Emily Leverett is a Professor of English at Methodist University, affiliated with the Department of English, Languages, Literatures & Cultures within the College of Arts, Humanities & Sciences. She holds a B.A. from Claremont McKenna College and earned her M.A. and Ph.D. at Ohio State University.

Her research focuses on medieval English romance and contemporary medievalism, particularly its manifestations in modern popular culture. She has analyzed Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels and Neil Gaiman’s use of Shakespeare in the Sandman series, alongside her work on the Las Vegas Golden Knights’ integration of knighthood in their performances during the 2018 Stanley Cup Final. Dr. Leverett’s creative writing also draws from medieval themes, including her fantasy series The Eisteddfod Chronicles and Marie de France and the Werewolf, and her co-edited speculative fiction anthologies like Predators in Petticoats and Lawless Lands.
