Emily Labarbera-Twarog

Emily Labarbera-Twarog is an Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, holding appointments in the School of Labor and Employment Relations, the Center for the Study of Global Gender Equity, and the European Union Center. Her work focuses on labor history, gender dynamics in the workplace, and public policy. She has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Frederick Burkhardt Residential Fellowship (2019) and the John T. Dunlop Scholar Award (2021).

Her research explores themes such as labor law reform, historical labor movements, and the intersection of gender and work. Recent studies include analyses of #MeToo precursors, workplace violence in hospitality industries, and the impact of the pandemic on working mothers' childcare challenges.
