Emily Cook

Emily Cook serves as an Assistant Professor and Research & Instruction Librarian for the humanities at Washington and Lee University’s University Library, part of The College. With over a decade at W&L, she transitioned from a part-time role in access services (starting September 2010) to her current academic position. Her work emphasizes student-centered support, including one-on-one research guidance, teaching WRIT 100 and FYE 100 courses, and mentoring library student workers, whom she highlights for their professional growth.

Her expertise spans information literacy, academic writing instruction, and humanities research methodologies. Outside academia, her interests include veganism, hydroponics, and advocating for cruelty-free products.
