Dr. Emily Buck is a Professor in the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership at The Ohio State University (OSU), where she also serves as co-director of the OSU Leadership Center. She holds a Ph.D. (2006), M.S. (2004), and B.S. (2002) in Agricultural Communication from the University of Florida and OSU, respectively. Her research focuses on visual communication, new communication tools, and bridging gaps between agricultural producers and consumers through effective messaging strategies. Dr. Buck has received prestigious awards including the AAAE Fellow designation and the Honorary National FFA Degree.
Her work spans topics like social media engagement in agriculture, curriculum development for agricultural communication programs, and consumer perceptions of emerging food technologies like cultured meats. She has advised multiple graduate students and collaborates with industry partners to advance agricultural outreach strategies. Dr. Buck’s research frequently addresses global challenges such as food security, sustainable practices, and public understanding of modern agriculture.
