Emily Baker

Emily Baker is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, University of Arkansas. Her work integrates digital fabrication, computational design, and hands-on material experimentation to innovate structural and construction systems. She mentors students in design/build projects and teaches courses like Structures, Fabrication Studios, and High Tech|Low Tech: Spatial Computing.

Research Interests: Baker explores the intersection of digital tools and tactile processes. Key projects include the Zip Form system (patent-pending with University of Arkansas Tech Ventures) and the Spin-Valence space frame, acquired by Cranbrook Art Museum. Her work emphasizes material intelligence and haptic learning, blending analog craftsmanship with computational precision.
