Emilio Rodriguez is a Research Fellow at the Florence School of Transnational Governance within the European University Institute. His work spans legalisation of armed conflicts, global politics of regional powers, interventions in the Global South, and transitional justice initiatives across Latin America, Africa, and Europe.
- PhD in Colombian armed conflict from King’s College London (2016)
- MA in Politics from The New School for Social Research
- MA in Conflict Studies and Human Rights from Utrecht University
His research intersects conflict studies, transnational law, and regional power dynamics, with a focus on Latin America and Africa. Recent work analyzes BRICS power politics in a shifting global order (2024).
He has collaborated with institutions such as the International Criminal Court (ICC), Eurojust, and the UN-backed CICIG in Guatemala, and previously held roles at the Graduate Institute’s CCDP in Geneva.
