Dr. Emilia Simison is a Lecturer in Latin American Politics at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), specializing in comparative political economy and policy analysis. She holds a PhD from MIT, an MA from Torcuato Di Tella University, and a BA from the University of Buenos Aires. Her research examines how political institutions shape citizen and interest group influence on policymaking across regime types, with a focus on policy change during regime transitions. She co-organizes the Authoritarian Political Systems Group and has held postdoctoral and research roles at Tulane University and CONICET.
Her academic career includes teaching roles at MIT, UBA, and UTDT, alongside extensive research funding from institutions like APSA, Mercatus Center, and MIT.
