Emil Flatø is an Assistant Professor/Faculty Fellow at NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. His research focuses on the politics of environmental knowledge in the context of long-term digital transformations, examining how environmental crises intertwine social, planetary, and political temporalities. He investigates agroecological research experiments and critiques scientific management through labor movement perspectives.
His educational background includes a B.A. in Human Rights from Columbia University (2015) and an M.A. in Modern Culture from the University of Copenhagen (2018). Previously, he worked as a writer for Morgenbladet, a Norwegian ideas publication.
