Emeline Comby

Emeline Comby is a dedicated geographer and full-time Researcher at École Normale Supérieure – Paris (ENS Ulm), affiliated with the CERES research unit. Previously, she was associated with the EVS laboratory at ENS de Lyon and Lyon 3 University (Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3). Her work spans geography, urban planning, and environmental science, focusing on spatial dynamics and water management, as evidenced by her thesis titled Who is water for? Space-time contrasts of the Rhône (France) and Sacramento (United States).

Her research integrates interdisciplinary approaches, particularly through the Humanity and Environment Observatory of the Rhône Valley and the junior laboratory "Des nombres et des mots." She also leads the GEO Café initiative in Lyon, promoting public engagement with geography. Emeline has received recognition for her work, including the City of Lyon's Young Researcher Prize in 2016.

Her academic output includes 10 peer-reviewed articles, 9 book chapters, and extensive participation in conferences. Beyond academia, she enjoys sports like judo and tennis, as well as travel and TV series.
