Emanuela Blanco

Emanuela Blanco is a Researcher at the Institute of Biosciences and BioResources (IBBR-CNR), part of the National Research Council of Italy. She holds a permanent position in the Department of Plant Genetics and focuses on plant biochemistry, molecular biology, and biodiversity. Her work integrates genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic approaches to study plant responses to environmental stresses, metabolic pathways, and the genetic basis of agronomic traits in crops like wheat, artichoke, and legumes.

Education:

• Ph.D. in Cellular Biochemistry and Pharmacology (2004), University of Bari.
• Postdoc (2004–2008) in molecular characterization of plant transport systems and neurodegenerative biomarkers.

Research Interests:

• Molecular mechanisms of plant stress responses (heat, biotic stress).
• Flavonoid and antioxidant biosynthesis regulation.
• Genetic mapping of agronomic traits in durum wheat and artichoke.
• cAMP signaling in plant immunity and development.
