Elspeth Guild

Elspeth Guild is a Jean Monnet Professor ad personam at Queen Mary, University of London and Radboud University Nijmegen. She also serves as a partner at Kingsley Napley law firm and associate senior research fellow at CEPS in Brussels. Her primary focus is EU Justice and Home Affairs law, including immigration, asylum, border controls, and privacy/data protection. She coordinates the European Commission’s Free Movement of Workers expert network and co-edits the European Journal of Migration and Law.

Research interests span EU migration policy, criminal law cooperation, and the intersection of data protection with human rights. She advises EU institutions and international bodies like UNHCR on migration governance. Her recent work addresses Euro-Mediterranean relations and labor migration challenges.

Professor Guild co-chairs the European Sub-Committee of the Immigration Law Practitioners Association (ILPA) and teaches at the College of Europe, Bruges.
