Elsa Vaz de Sequeira

Elsa Vaz de Sequeira is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, where she graduated, earned her Master's (2004), and Doctoral (2014) degrees. She previously co-coordinated the Arbitral Centre at the same university (2013–2017) and currently leads the Católica Research Centre for the Future of Law.

Research Interests encompass Civil Law, Criminal Law, and interdisciplinary studies at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Franchise Agreements, and Collision of Rights. Her work emphasizes legal frameworks for AI liability, torts, and co-ownership of rights, contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4: Quality Education).

Recent Publications highlight trends in AI-driven liability, personality rights, and digital legacy. Notable projects include the Multidisciplinary Perspectives on AI and the Law (2019–2025), focusing on legal adaptation to technological challenges.
