Elman Bashar

Elman Bashar is an Associate Professor at Plymouth State University, where he teaches courses in computer programming, data communications, cybersecurity, and mobile app development. He earned his BS and MS in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Dhaka (2007, 2009) and another MS (2013) and PhD (2016) in Computer Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. His research focuses on data dissemination in opportunistic mobile social networks and network security, particularly in mobile environments.

His work includes energy-aware clustering techniques for mobile ad hoc networks (2010) and NSF-funded research on distributed data dissemination schemes for Device-to-Device networks (2016). Current research trends emphasize security in mobile networks, probabilistic delay constraints, and opportunistic data sharing. Publications highlight applications of optimization algorithms and quality-of-service improvements in dynamic network environments.

Dr. Bashar has taught foundational and advanced courses such as Introduction to Programming, Data Structures, Mobile App Development, and Cybersecurity. His academic contributions span both computational theory and practical implementation in networked systems.
