Dr. Ellis Ridett is a Research Fellow in the Energy and Climate Change Division at the University of Southampton. His primary role involves advancing renewable energy integration, decarbonization strategies, and sustainability policy development at local and regional levels. He holds a PhD from the University of Southampton, where he focused on energy system modeling for the Isle of Wight.
His research interests span renewable energy systems, energy system modeling with spatial analysis, carbon footprinting, net-zero strategy development, energy policy governance, and AI-driven analytical methods. Current projects include the LATENT initiative (assessing third-party heat pump control for grid support), rooftop solar feasibility tools for Hampshire/Sussex, and the City of Southampton’s decarbonization strategy.
