Elliot Tetreault is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Affiliate Faculty in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University at Albany, State University of New York. They joined the department in 2018 after completing their PhD in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Louisville and an MFA in Creative Writing (Nonfiction) from Emerson College.

Their research foregrounds social justice through political and activist rhetoric, critically examining intersecting dynamics of gender, sexuality, and race across digital media and community praxis. Current scholarship investigates rhetorical strategies in contemporary American activism with emphasis on marginalized identities.
