Ellinor Morack

Dr. Ellinor Morack is a Researcher at the Department of Turkology, University of Bamberg. She specializes in the history of the late Ottoman Empire and modern Turkey, with a focus on political, social, and cultural transformations during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Research Interests:

• Ottoman modernity and nation-building
• Post-Ottoman transformations and population exchange
• Collective memory and social history
• Gender relations and constitutional movements

Projects: Principal investigator of the DFG-funded network project Post-Ottoman Transformations. Currently working on a book about public remembrance of Turkey's "National Struggle" (Milli Mücadele).

Teaching: Offers courses on forced migration, gender history, Ottoman memoirs, and constitutional movements. Supervises term papers and provides detailed guidelines for academic writing.
