Ellen Koppersmith Madden

Ellen Koppersmith Madden is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accounting at the Mitchell College of Business, University of South Alabama. She joined the faculty in Fall 2007 after teaching part-time for several years.

Education:

• MBA (2003) from Spring Hill College
• BA (1987) from Birmingham-Southern College

Madden is a licensed CPA in Alabama and a Certified Management Accountant. Her professional experience includes auditing roles at Price Waterhouse, Ltd., internal audit work for clients, and consulting services for small businesses and nonprofits.

Scientific Awards:

• Instructor of the Year (Mitchell College of Business, 4 times)

She teaches Principles of Accounting and Auditing courses and serves on advisory boards for organizations like Camp Kesem, Mobile Opera, Inc., and Mobile Ballet, Inc.
