Ellen Ketels is an Associate Professor of Literature at Claremont Graduate University and Associate Dean of the Faculty for Curriculum. Her scholarship bridges medieval literary studies with interdisciplinary approaches to material culture and pedagogy.
- Education: BA from Washington University, MA from University of York, MA and PhD from Columbia University
Her research focuses on Medieval Literature, particularly Middle English texts, Chaucer, Dante, and gender studies. She explores intersections of medieval religious culture, travel narratives, urban studies, and history of the book. Her recent publications examine ritual drama, manuscript materiality, and devotional economies.
