Ellen Feder

Ellen K. Feder is William Fraser McDowell Professor of Philosophy and Social Policy at American University. Her interdisciplinary research bridges contemporary continental philosophy with feminist and critical race theory, particularly regarding social policy implications.

Research Focus: Examines the social construction of identity categories through works like Family Bonds: Genealogies of Race and Gender and Disturbing Bodies (in progress) analyzing medical management of intersex individuals.
