Dr. Elizabeth Vásquez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics at the University at Albany's College of Integrated Health Sciences, where she also directs the Center for the Elimination of Health Disparities (CEHD).
Her research examines racial and ethnic disparities in physical activity among older adults and investigates how social contexts influence health outcomes in diverse aging populations, particularly Latino communities. Vásquez's work connects individual-level indicators with ecological factors affecting chronic conditions, bone health, and chronic pain management.
She holds affiliations with the Sustained Training in Aging and HIV Research (STAHR) program and contributes to the Study of Latinos (SOL) research consortium. Her educational background includes a DrPH in Epidemiology from New York Medical College, an MPH from Columbia University, and a BS in Gerontology from CUNY York College.
