Elizabeth Terry-Roisin is an Assistant Professor of History at Florida International University (FIU), affiliated with the Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs. Her research focuses on early modern Europe, with a specialization in Spain, Italy, and the Mediterranean world. She holds a Ph.D. in History from UC Berkeley (2015) and teaches courses on Spanish history, the Renaissance, chivalric culture, and European social history.
Her current book project, Morisco Knights in Renaissance Spain, examines cultural assimilation, nobility, and religious minorities in early modern Spain. She has received grants from the American Philosophical Society and the NEH, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Mediterranean Seminar. Her research also explores comparative frontiers, gardens, Romanticism, and 19th-century American perceptions of Spain.
