Elizabeth Storer is a medical geographer affiliated with the Firoz Lalji Institute for Africa at the London School of Economics (LSE). Her research critically examines the social dynamics of healthcare interventions, focusing on epidemic/pandemic preparedness campaigns and their impact on global health priorities. She actively engages with community responses to health interventions, emphasizing how exclusion shapes vaccine hesitancy in marginalized communities.
Storer’s work spans interdisciplinary collaborations, particularly in understanding historical inequalities and contemporary injustices in international emergency responses. She contributes to projects exploring the intersection of faith and humanitarian assistance in Uganda and South Sudan, as well as mental health integration in humanitarian protection frameworks.
As a Research Officer on the EU Horizon PERISCOPE project, she investigates the legacies of the COVID-19 pandemic across Europe. She also leads the British Academy-funded research Ethnographies of (Dis)Engagement: Understanding Vaccine Rejection in Chronically Neglected Communities across the G7, focusing on Roma, migrant, and diaspora populations in Italy and Canada.
