Elizabeth Solis is an Instructor of Spanish at the University of West Georgia, affiliated with the School of Humanities within the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. She joined UWG in 2014 and specializes in teaching Spanish language courses across elementary and intermediate levels, along with foreign language methodology courses. Her academic background includes a Master of Arts in Spanish from the University of Central Florida (2001), a Certificate in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the University of Peace in Costa Rica (2011), and a Certificate in Teaching Peace in the 21st Century from the Kroc Summer Institute for Peace Studies at Notre Dame (2013).
Her teaching responsibilities span a wide range of Spanish language courses, including SPAN-1001/1002 (Elementary Spanish I/II), SPAN-2001/2002 (Intermediate Spanish I/II), as well as courses on language development and teaching methodologies such as FORL-4501 (Foundations of Language Development) and FORL-4502 (Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages). She has also supervised teaching internships through FORL-4586.
Prof. Solis has maintained a consistent teaching schedule since 2020, offering multiple sections of her courses each semester across in-person and online formats.
