Elizabeth Riga serves as Lecturer in Dance at Oakland University's School of Music, Theatre and Dance, specializing in Modern Dance technique, Choreography, and directing Oakland Dance Theatre productions. Her academic appointment began in Fall 2017 after relocating to Michigan with her family.
Dr. Riga holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from New York University Tisch School of the Arts. As an original member of Keigwin + Company, she created, performed, and toured extensively while teaching nationally. Her performance credits include prestigious venues such as the Joyce Theater, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Guggenheim Works in Process, Jacob's Pillow Opening Gala, and New York City Center.
Riga maintains an active pedagogical profile through master classes at institutions including the University of Michigan, New York University, and North Carolina School of the Arts. Her teaching practice bridges professional performance experience with academic instruction in dance technique and choreographic development.
