Elizabeth Ricketts

Elizabeth Ricketts serves as Assistant Professor and Assistant Chairperson in the Department of History, Philosophy, Political Science, and Religious Studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania's College of Arts, Humanities, Media, and Public Affairs.

Education:

• PhD, Emory University (1996)

Her research centers on 20th-century American history with specialized focus on working-class movements, African-American experiences, and women's history. She is recognized for groundbreaking work on radical politics in Western Pennsylvania coalfields and currently co-authoring a book about nineteenth-century labor systems in America. Her scholarship bridges social, political, and economic historical analysis through interdisciplinary frameworks.

As Assistant Chairperson, she oversees departmental operations while maintaining active scholarly engagement. Her administrative leadership complements her research contributions to American historical studies.
