Elizabeth Poole

Elizabeth Poole is a Professor of Media and Communications at Keele University's School of Humanities. She holds roles as Admissions Officer, Faculty Research Integrity Lead, and Humss Library Representative. Her research focuses on media representation of Islam/Muslims, digital media hate speech, and ethnic content production/reception. She has authored three books and led projects like the AHRC-funded 'Contesting Islamophobia' study. Her work engages with advocacy groups and parliamentary bodies addressing Islamophobia and religion policy.

Education: Media and Cultural Studies degrees from Warwick and Leicester Universities. Current projects include examining Islamophobia on Twitter and analyzing post-Christchurch attack discourse. Teaching includes modules on digital media, news production, and research methods at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
