Elizabeth Pickett is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas), affiliated with the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. She holds a Ph.D. in Genetics and Development from UT Southwestern (2007) and a B.S. in Genetics from Texas A&M University (2001).
Her research focuses on developmental biology, particularly the molecular mechanisms underlying spina bifida. A notable publication (2008) investigates PDGFRα-driven PI3K signaling and somite migration defects linked to this condition.
Pickett was honored with the District-Wide Excellence in Teaching Award for Adjunct Faculty (2010) from the Dallas County Community College District. She is an active member of the Society for Developmental Biology and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Currently, she is not accepting undergraduate or graduate students.
