Elizabeth Oppe

Elizabeth Oppe, Ph.D., is a Teaching Professor in the Public Relations program at West Virginia University’s Reed School of Media and Communications. She joined the faculty in Fall 2011 and specializes in teaching public relations, business communication, and graduate-level courses in change and innovation.

• Ph.D. in Instructional and Organizational Communication from Ohio University
• MBA from West Virginia University
• Bachelor’s degree from Glenville State College

Oppe integrates her research on service learning with community engagement and education. She has developed interdisciplinary courses, including Communications and Public Relations for Executives in the WVU College of Business and Economics’ online MBA program, and supervised the Media Training Seminar for collegiate athletes in the John Chambers Elite Program.

Her career spans academia and media, including a brief role as a sideline reporter for CBS College Sports. She earned recognition as a top graduate from the Preston Robert Tisch Institute for Global Sports Program at New York University.
