Elizabeth Maher

Elizabeth Maher, M.D., Ph.D., is a Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center with joint appointments in Internal Medicine and Neurology, focusing on translational neuro-oncology. She directs the Crystal Charity Ball Center for Pediatric Brain and Neurological Diseases and co-founded the Neuro-Oncology Translational Research Laboratory. Her work targets IDH-mutant gliomas, where she pioneered clinical trials for vorasidenib/ivosidenib leading to FDA-approved therapies.

Maher utilizes advanced metabolic imaging (e.g., 2-hydroxyglutarate MRS) to diagnose and monitor gliomas.
