Elizabeth M. Fisher

Elizabeth Fisher is Associate Professor in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Cornell University. Her research advances sustainable energy technologies through combustion chemistry and thermal systems analysis.

Research highlights:

• Biomass cookstove design for developing regions
• Pyrolysis kinetics and biochar applications
• Oxy-combustion for carbon capture
• Biofuel combustion chemistry

She co-developed Cornell's hydrogen energy station concept and has contributed to USDA-funded projects on biochar carbon sequestration.

Teaching honors include:

• College of Engineering's James and Mary Tien Teaching Award
• ASME St. Lawrence Section Outstanding Teacher Award
• John Swanson Teaching Prize

Fisher holds PhD and MS degrees from University of California and serves as Fellow of Cornell's Atkinson Sustainability Center.
