Elizabeth Kahn

Dr. Elizabeth Kahn is an Associate Professor in Political Theory at Durham University's School of Government and International Affairs. Her research focuses on social injustice, political activism, and global justice, with a particular emphasis on the legitimacy of political activists operating outside formal institutions.

Research Interests: Political legitimacy, protest ethics, civil resistance, collectivization, global justice, human rights, and the political philosophy of Iris Marion Young. Her work explores how individuals and activists can address structural injustices through participatory methods and moral contractualism.
