Elizabeth Hoon

Dr Elizabeth Hoon is a Lecturer in Public Health at the University of Adelaide's Adelaide Medical School, holding part-time appointments (0.5 FTE at Adelaide Rural Clinical School and 0.3 FTE at the Discipline of General Practice). Her research focuses on qualitative methodologies in healthcare, particularly addressing rural and remote primary care challenges, patient engagement, and health inequities. She has led qualitative components of large multidisciplinary projects and contributed to three Category 3 grants and two Category 1 grants as a Chief Investigator or key researcher.

With 15 years of experience, Hoon has authored 50 peer-reviewed articles, achieving 549 citations and an h-index of 13. She is eligible to supervise Masters and PhD students in health services research and qualitative methods. Her work emphasizes stakeholder perspectives in health systems, including intervention implementation in diverse settings.

Based at the Rundle Mall Plaza and Helen Mayo North locations, Hoon collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to explore sociological dimensions of health and improve healthcare access in underserved areas.
